One of the greatest pillars of our community is the youth, and in one of the poorest communities in the region, it is very difficult for young people to go to college.
Before our traditional Christmas party, we celebrated the graduation of 11 young people from our “San Eugenio” scholarship program, making a total of 32 graduates for the year at university.
Currently, it is very complicated for a young person to get ahead, because their current context places all their chances of getting ahead against them; however, with the support we receive from our donors we have made it possible for more than 120 professionals to fulfill their dream of graduating, and not only that, to continue serving so that more help reaches our mission.
Most of our doctors, psychologists, lawyers, engineers, musicians and teachers have been able to get ahead thanks to this program. These young people fill our entire community with hope, because each one is living proof that it is possible to face obstacles and persevere on the student path.
The following are the names of the graduates of this period:
The speakers of the graduating class were Manuel Palafox and Nolens Cervantes, two young graduates who are an example for those who recently graduated. In his speech, Nolens encouraged the graduates not to give up on their dreams, to trust in God in times of uncertainty, and to be bearers of love and compassion wherever they go.
One of the graduates, Kevin Secundino, thanked the community for their prayers and the program for their great support and for believing in the youth in this area of Tijuana.
We thank our donors for being the cornerstone of this great success, because without them it would be very difficult for more and more young people to graduate from school.
