You look in the mirror and breathe a sigh. Anxiety clutches at your chest again, reminding you of every mistake, every person you pushed away, every moment you sabotaged yourself. But this time you don’t let yourself fall. God has never left. In confession you cleanse your soul, in communion you find strength. You know that faith does not eliminate battles, but it gives you the courage to face them.
To go to the Jubilee in Rome, pass through the Holy Door and start from scratch with the plenary indulgence, you have given up outings, saved every peso, sold bread, clothes, tickets. You’ve left your fear behind, talking to strangers to raise funds. Every sacrifice is a step closer.
It hurts, but it would hurt more to give up. This journey is not just to Rome, it is a journey to God and to the person you are called to be.
This is the story of Rebeca Berrelleza, one of the young pilgrims, and like her, they all have a powerful story that has brought them to this point, and with the possibilities that God has given them, they are trying with all their might to live the experience of going to Vatican City.
Each one of the young people has given everything to reach the goal: they have organized raffles, they have stayed up many nights to bake bread and go out into the streets of our mission to sell it.
To gain the plenary indulgence, we have taken charity to every place we visit: handing out food pantries, providing food to the homeless and doing other works that reflect our spirit of repentance.
We know that the pilgrim’s journey is not easy, but we are convinced that each sacrifice brings us closer to God’s grace.
We would like you to pray for them, and for this purpose, we list the names of the young pilgrims:
The pilgrim’s journey is by no means simple, however, we ask you to pray so that we may be able to attend this great event of our faith.
We thank you for your prayers, intentions and generosity.
