One of the members of our community recently shared some sad news.
A few days ago, one morning like any other, an explosion was heard in the neighborhood: the electric transformer, along with the electric energy meter, had blown up. The explosion caused Efraín and his wife to suffer a total loss of their home. Only ruins remained of what they once called home.
His roof was covered with a tarp. Because the rain was causing it to rot and the government has not provided the adequate maintenance to the electric installations, fires erupted everywhere.
Mr. Efrain works, but with an average Mexican salary it is not enough for adequate repairs, and even less to repair a house from its foundation. Currently, the couple does not have a fixed place to sleep. They have had no choice but to stay in shelters and with relatives. Nothing is the same for them now without their home.
We also discovered that some of their relatives also lost everything in the fire.
Sadly, this situation is becoming more and more common. Your help could mean that tomorrow, thousands of people in our community will have a reliable roof over their heads – one that will help them sleep peacefully. Thank you very much for your generosity, may God bless you.
