FOOD DELIVERY FROM THE GROUP OF YOUNG ADULTS

Imagine yourself in a waiting room of an Social Security goverment hospital (IMSS) in Tijuana, Mexico. The attention is null, the room is very uncomfortable and cold, and the medical staff is apathetic about your situation.

You’re waiting to be told what has happened to one of your loved ones, feeling shivers run down your spine every time a doctor comes out to talk to the families awaiting news.

As you arrive at the emergency clinic, you decide to go without eating in case your turn is called for an update on your family member’s condition. However, hunger does not leave you alone, and you begin to feel the discomfort.

In desperation, you ask God for a sign that He is with you, as your hunger increases, but you really want to stay there.

As you wait, you hear the voices of some young men handing out food to the people in the emergency room. The food is hot and ready to be eaten, and the embrace of the young man handing you the food feeds your soul.

This young man belongs to the Young Adults group of the Oblate community of Tijuana, whose mission that day was to distribute 135 lunches of food. Thanks to them, you understand that God is always with you.
